I think audio is one of the most natural, most human ways we tell stories.
When we tune into a podcast, we’re feeding a primal need we have for storytelling and connection. We respond to the human voice more than any other sound in the world. Sound design and a well crafted narrative can create immersive and compelling audio experiences.
I thought I was going to work abroad in post conflict societies where I had done graduate work in South Africa and Rwanda, but when I found myself producing for a radio program focused on connection and bridging divides I realized I could contribute to peace building, empathy, and understanding right here.
That initial experience of audio as a source of connection has fueled every single audio project I have worked on since.
